BEOWULF IS A BRAVE, BETTER AND POWERFUL WARRIOR OF THE GEATS.
HE IS KNOWN FOR HIS BRAVERY AND HIS ALMOST SUPERHUMAN DEEDS AT STRENGTH.

WHEN HE HEARS THAT THE NEIGHBORING KING OF THE DANES AND HIS MEN ARE BEING TERRORIZED BY A VICIOUS MONSTER, THE GREAT GEAT WARRIOR TAKES UP THE CHALLENGE.

THEY HAVE SEEN MY STRENGTH FOR THEMSELVES, HAVE SEEN MY RISE FROM THE DARKNESS OF WAR, DRIPPING WITH MY ENEMIES' BLOOD.

I DROVE FIVE GREAT GIANTS INTO CHAINS, CHASED ALL OF THAT RACE FROM THE EARTH.

NOW GRENDEL AND I ARE CALLED TOGETHER, AND NOW I'VE COME.

SO FAR...

i HAVE ACCOMPLiiSHED SOME OF MY 15 GOALS. FOR EXAMPLE i'VE BEEN TRiiYNG SO HARD TO DO MY HOMEWORK, SO FAR IN SOME QUiiZES THAT i HAVE DONE I GOT A GOOD GRADE, i'VE BEEN GOiiN TO SKOOL; ALL OF THiiZ FALLS iN THE "GETTiiN GOOD GRADES." ANOTHER GOAL THAT i FEEL i DiiD ACCOMPLiiSHED WAS GETTiiN A GOOD GRADE IN MY ACT CLASS... GUESS WAT .. I HAVE A "A"!! YEAH BAiiBE!!! =D

the anglo saxon times!

well what i found interesting about the Anglo Saxon times is how they live, what they do for fun, and the way they will protect themselves. I can't believe that they use to live in a small fragile house. i wonder how and what they will go through when it was raining, snowing or in a storm. back in those days all they did for fun was drink, sing and tell stories about brave warriors and their adventures, play games, challenge each other, etc. unlike this days what a teen does for fun is go to movies, use the computer, watch TV, use our cellphones to text message, etc. what BIG difference right! another difference between back then and today is protection. all they had to protect themselves was their strong warriors. and what they will wear for protection was knives, spears and their shield, that's it! today the most common protection is a gun. something else that caught my atteting was they way they use to dress. very long robes that would cover them from head to toe. lastly, i also thought that that it was fun how they would celebrate, driking, geting drunk, having a good time. i think that this is the only thing that is similar to today.

i just finish reading Beowulf, and i thought that i should share my favorite part of the story. My favorite part was at the end, because it revels who won the victory between Grendel the monster or Beowulf the brave warrior. "Then old and young rejoiced, turned back from that happy pilgrimage, mounted their hard-hooved horses, high-spirited stallions, and rode them slowly towards Herot again, retelling Beowulf's bravery as they jogged along. And over and over they swore that nowhere on earth or under the spreading sky or between the seas, neither south nor north, was there a warrior worthier to rule over men." I like this part of the story because it tells me how happy and proud they where about Beowulf. Great to know that it was Beowulf that won the victory and not Grendel. Everyone thought that there was no one else as brave, and better warrior than Beowulf.

Summer Camp

Something that I have done that no one else in this classroom has done was attending JROTC Summer Camp. It was a new and challenging experience, I learn a lot of different stuff. For example how to do fire, how to get dirty water to clean water, shelters, etc

As all of you know, my name is Giovanna and it's origin is Italian. The meaning of my name is: God is gracious. It was my dad's idea to name me Giovanna, my mom told me that she had other names in mind but my that kept on telling her that he like Giovanna better. Before my 5 year old sister was born, my family use to call me Giovys, but once my sister was born it change. She would try to say Giovys, but would always end up saying Bobis. My middle name is Brendaly, but my family sometimes call me Brenda. Ramirez is my dad's last name.
